Hey! I'm Edward Renteria, an experience-driven game designer and gameplay programmer with expertise in system design
seeking to support cross-disciplinary teams. I began studying at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles,
then continued to finish my education at the University of Texas at Austin, where I'm now living.
Throughout my studies, I found myself drawn to projects that require constant collaboration across teams. With the
perpetual listening to new perspectives and sharing of ideas, my interests lie in being able to work alongside others
to create something greater than any one person could have done alone. After all, I think some of life's best experiences
can only happen when they're shared!
In addition to collaborating, I love working with interactive media. Listening to new perspectives and sharing of ideas
extends beyond coworkers! Whether it be prototyping the core loop of a game or putting an app mock-up in front of users,
the desire to iterate and constantly improve my designs lives deep within my heart of hearts.
When I'm not walking around my apartment trying to put myself in the shoes of a player, I like to engage in all sorts
of other arts. Playing piano, doodling animals, or writing short stories, I once called myself the fine arts kid final boss;
this is a statement I still stand by.
Some of my favorite game genres are cooperative games, rhythm games, and strategy games.

Q: What's with the website?
A: honestly? i think it's a more accurate representation of me! i used to have an old website that was a lot more
"modern," but i feel more comfortable being sillier. (it was, in addition, very costly). i did also just decide one day i wanted to have fun learning some HTML and CSS,
so there's that. because of that, though, it means that any decision I make here is very intentional (because it's kinda a pain to
change things in VSCode instead of, like, Wix) :-P

bill wurtz and e.e. cummings are indeed big inspirations, and it does feel more authetically me. Don't worry; I can switch whenever I want to. I was a beta reader
for a few fan fiction stories in sixth grade. My English has improved since then (hopefully). >:-)

A: depends on what i feel insecure about at the moment. (ain't that the truth? hahaha). please ask me anytime! answers will range from
